Just to expand a little further to show what the codes mean, here is the same breakdown.

ST 71 = style/model year = 1971

33687: 3 = GM division = Oldsmobile; 36 = model series = Cutlass V8; 87 = body type = hardtop coupe

R = assembly plant = Arlington TX

06538 BDY = Fisher body number (no relationship with your VIN at all)

TR 940 = interior color and front seat type = black vinyl interior with a split bench seat

13 13 PNT = lower body color (13) and upper body color (also 13) = sterling silver

01D = time build code = January (01), fourth week of that month (D), 1971

I don't know what the "290" means but it could be some sort of option code.

GREAT little program he built for sure!!!
Appreciate that.
Where are the accessory codes? Are they on the body tag or VIN?
Or neither?

They are on the cowl tag in most cases but not always. That is the only place for them unless you find a built sheet or broadcast card.

As an FYI I noticed an error on the site where that link goes to a VERY old directory. If you got a page error, very sorry about that. I setup a redirect page so if you hit the link above it goes to the correct page.
