ABS control module

One of the brake line ports on my ABS control module is stripped out. Any suggestions on the best way to re-thread so I can re-attach the brake line and avoid leakage? I am trying to avoid having to buy a replacement ABS control module.

This is for a 1997 Oldsmobile 88 LS.

If the threads are really stripped in the ABS module, you're probably out of luck. The fittings have a machined flare for sealing at the base of the hole. You really can't drill it out and re-tap without damaging the seal. A good used module from a wrecking yard is probably your best bet.

ABS Control Module

Thanks for your recommendation Joe.

My ABS module has the following sticker info on it:

ABS-5/TCS/MSVA C
model # 16252959
CLCD: 25667738

Can you tell me what those letters and numbers mean (with the exception of the model #)? I just want to make sure I don't get an incompatible replacement.

Do you have any recommendations for salvage yards in the Northern Va area?

I usually go to Crazy Ray's, either the one in Mt. Airy or the one in Columbia. That module was used on 1996-99 Olds 88 and Buick LeSabre, but be careful as they are different with traction control vs. without.

If you Google the part number 1625295, you get this ebay ad for one and this ebay ad for another. RockAuto shows that Standard Motor Products has rebuilt versions, but they are out of stock, so they may no longer be offered.

Just wanted to send you a quick note to say Thanks ! I ordered the part from Ebay. It came in 2 days. Unfortunately it took me longer to get back under the hood. With this forums help I was able to get my daily driver back on the road for a lot less than most of the local auto shops would have charged me.
