7488rag
Just startted on my 74 88 rag 455 th400 and Qjet. Owned it for 4 years but no time or money. It appears to be a GM executive rental car. Don't know if this is significant but maybe someone could shed some light on this. I know that I am the third owner, and the last guy said he owned it for 20 years. Anyway, it ran when he took it off the road for a broken fuel line, never got around to fixing it. This guy lives about 3km past my house and I had seen the car around for several years. The price started at 3600 and was to be sold at a place up here called Burls Creek Automotive Flea Market, gorgeous place. The guy who was to flatdeck it to the show had a heart attack and couldn't show, so he left the car there and lowered the price to 2600. I couldn't afford that either. It sat there for 2 years on a concrete parking pad made for a RV. I pass his place and notice that the board in the window says 500. My wife was with me and knew that I was in love with this boat. Whe goes to him a week later and offers him 250 on the spot and he goes for it. I come home from work and try to park in my garage and I almost lost it. I got very lucky sor far with my inspection as the car is relatively solid, a small hole in the trunk above the axle, timing chain, fuel line, and rs top drive cable. everything works, and believe that the car will start when I put the motor back in after I replace the top end gaskets and cleaning. pray for me.
Got the engine out and cleaned up, timing chain on, and compression is up. Gotta clean the engine bay and do the brake line work while its empty but hope to fire it up in a couple of weeks. Then the real work starts.
