First thing to do is get the FACTORY service manuals for it. 1972 Olds Chassis Service Manual and 1972 Fisher Body Manual. They will help you fix about anything on your big girl.
I have a 1976 98 Regency Sedan myself and there are plenty of these beasts lurking in this forum.
