Use replacement 350 engine side mounts and the 455 drops right in. With a TH-400 trans (short tail housing) you just slide the cross member back. The holes are already in the frame for it. You will need a shorter driveshaft and a TH-400 yoke. There may be an issues with the parking brake cable, but I'm not sure about that.
That's about it.

You are correct. Since the e-brake cable hangs off the crossmember, moving the crossmember requires a longer front cable and a shorter intermediate cable.

No they wouldn't. Just get new replacement mounts for the 350 NOT the 455.
It's always a good idea to replace the motor mounts when you have an engine out of the car.

If you're going with the 455 in your 72' might as well make it look good too and put the 442 grilles in...unless of course you're looking to build a sleeper!

Welcome aboard!
