Been A while since I was on here last. I'm still trying to complete converting my bench seat to buckets and A console on my 72 Cutlass S. Everything is pretty much done. My biggest question is about the mounting of the floor shifter and console. We're the console mounting brackets welded in place or fastened with sheet metal bolts? And the question I am really interested in knowing. When I drilled the floor tunnel for the shift cable, is their A rubber grommit that fits the hole? Iknow it gets A piece of foam in between the shifter and the hole. I also have seen after-market shift-cables with A rubber cover and two mounting bolts to cover the hole. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks OLDS FANS!
