72 CS Fan/Radiator protection

What is the name of the plastic protection for the fan next to the radiator, here's the picture

That would be the fan shroud. It helps with air flow.

That car doesn't appear to have a fan shroud. Are you asking about the masticated rubber fillers on the side of the radiator?

The fan shroud also needs to have mounting tabs welded to the lower rad support to attach to. Shroud looks like this, and is reproduced; available from several vendors so shop for best price on parts and shipping



The mounting tabs that need to be welded onto the lower rad look like this


The clips used to attach the lower shroud to the mounts are the same as the ones used on the lower front control arms for the shock install.

Some cars came without the shroud and those have a top plate that's different. I'll try to come up with pictures of the two styles, or if you have time post a picture of the plate that attaches on top of the core support and radiator, then we could tell you if you need to replace that too.
