Hey Guys, I just bought a 1971 cutlass supreme convertible and I cant find out what "987" for trim on the cowl tag means. Any help would be great!

987 refers to the interior color and seat type. In your case, it means a white interior with a bench seat and centre armrest, also known as a notchback seat. This interior was available on the 71 Cutlass Supreme coupe and convertible and on the 442 convertible. Congrats on the new purchase; 71's are my favorite.

 

Looks like white notched bench seat in vinyl.
