70' Cutlass SX convertible (W32)

Hi Guys im new on this page and new to Olds.
however i am not new to cars/A-bodies etc.
I am very active on the Buick side and so i like my BOPs.

i scored a 70 Cutlass SX Conv. in very good condition sitting disassembled for 20+ years @ a older gentlemans house. Now that he is moving he do not have the engerie to restore it as he planned so we agreed on a deal.
The Car is almost completely original. and in great condition.
i have a ton of parts and everything was/is perfectly labeled and so i will have no problems putting this car back together.

The frame is fully powder coated and has a GLOBAL WEST front suspension.
it came with 2 th400s ( 1 long 1, short tail) (2x12bolt rears) , actually a OEM AC with all brackets vents blocking plate etc.

I researched the Engine Block and found that it is a Fa block so a 72-76 455 ( not #matching)
as well as E heads and 3x 4 barrell intake manifolds . 3 x Rochesters and many many other things, some brand new such as ralley gauges etc.

So i couldnt say no.

I want to restore the car as original as i CAN. I am a hotrod guy so its not the skillz to dont allow me to go oem, its more the good aftermarket options that are tempting.

Since the motor is not # matching i am wondering if i should stay conservative and use the oem parts i have , or go Alu intake, heads, cam , headers.
I also consider to flip the car once build. lets see.

next i will ask some engine building questions i guess.

If you pan to flip it, try to stay close to original as that would bring a wider market and likely higher resale price.

You can get a lot of performance using the factory heads, intake, and carb, just choose pistons and camshaft wisely. And rear gears.

Talk to Mark Remmel (cutlassefi on this site) as he is an engine builder with lots of experience, and has brought some new Oldsmobile products to the market. Pistons and camshafts are his stuff.
