69-72 Bucket Seat Mystery!

Found a pair of 69-72 GM bucket seats that have a feature I have never seen before and I am hoping someone here can tell me what year and model they came out of! The drivers side seat bottom has an indented curve in the corner to clear a 4 speed shifter handle (I assume). Yes it is original and has not been modified by someone. ANY help greatly appreciated! Posting 2 pictures.

Those look like Poncho seats, and I've never seen anything like that either.

Welcome to ClassicOlds.

I'd say F-body (Camaro/Firebird) seats from 1968-9. I'd also say the cutout is a modification -- are you sure this isn't possible?

They are 1970 Pontiac Grand Prix Seats w/ optional "Comfort Weave" seating surfaces.

I love these kind of searches, and I spent a while googling. In all the pics i looked at, the consoles are giant both auto and Manual, and it makes a big kick over to the drivers side right up against the seat.. But I didn't see any other seats with that notch out even 4spds...

So it may be as was mentioned above, a short previous owner had them modify the seat to allow it to move farther forward & clear that kickout. Could have been far enough back in its history to appear original.

I'd be curious to see what the spring assembly looks like under the buns.. you can see the corner of it where the notch is, so its definitely been modified too... You'll have to address that when redoing the seat.
