68 442 convertible

Does anyone know where I can get a complete print out of my vin number?
I want to also know the value, the car is an automatic.
Thanks, Connie

If you post your VIN and cowl tag info on this forum, you will get all the answers you can get out of that input. You can also buy various Olds 4-4-2 info books. One of my favorites is "4-4-2 By The Numbers", available from SuperCars Unlimited in Beaverton, OR. Their web site is www.supercarsunlimited.com and you can view their on-line catalog, not only for the book, but for all the mechanical parts they sell for 4-4-2 model cars. When I restored my '68 in the 2005-2007 period, I got a lot of my mechanical parts from SuperCars.

There is precious little information in the VIN in 1968. All you will get is division (Oldsmobile), model line, body style, model year, and assembly plant. If your car is a real 442, it will have a VIN that starts 344678... The next character will be the assembly plant, and the last six digits are the sequential build number. Pretty much all of that you can see by looking at the car.

Value is impossible to determine without more information and detailed photos. A rusty parts car is worth $500. A fully documented original 1968 W-30 could be worth well over $50,000.
