63 Olds 98 Holiday 394

Hello all,
My name is Morris in the small state of Delaware.
I'm new to the site, and still trying to figure out setting up my profile and such. I'll get it, just bare w/me for a bit.
I'm happy to report I'm the third and proud owner of 63 Olds 98 Holiday for (almost) ten years now. The short story is: Normally she's garage kept, but I trusted her in the care of a buddy (use the word Buddy very loosely) of mine to do some cosmetic work and complete minor adjustments. Needless to type, I was surprised or more appropriately horrified, as to what I found when I picked her up. Now I'm in need of a rear bumper and all sorts of materials/parts.

Welcome to CO!!
I have a custom sport coupe and convertible ( both 63s) so I feel your pain in trying to find parts, there are several members here with 63 98s so you should find the parts you need to complete your project.

Thanx, I'm hoping so! I cannot believe this happened to me. I heard many different stories of people getting ripped off, and thought " That must really suck, I'm glad it didn't happen to me" Now, It happened to me... In any event, I can't get any assistance from anyone in my area, due to; the make and model of my car.

The salt in my wounds, is the fact that-I went from driving my car every day everywhere to her just sitting in my garage. in fact, I drove her out of my neighbor hood and she came back home on a flatbed. I'm so disgusted! So much time money, and effort only for my vision to have shatter before my eyes.

Welcome to the forum, we need to keep these 63's on the road! Sorry to hear you have had problems but it happens too often. What needs to be done to make the car useable?

What exactly did the "buddy" do or cause? That'll let us know better how we can help. For that matter you're just across the river from New Jersey so there's bound to be someone there who can "help".

That said, I know of one guy who's been looking for a good rear bumper or even individual pieces for a couple years now, so it may not be easy. Can yours be straightened and replated?

Looking at your avatar pic it appears you may have a Luxury Sedan?

Ok, here we go... Enrique Calixta is someone I met at the Ocean City MD Car show in 2011 he operated a custom shop Latin Customs in Selbyville De rt 54.
After meeting up w/hima few times at car shows and going to his shp a few times a week, reviewing his work and monitoring his clientel, I relaxed my gaurd and seeing his personal clloection of cars. I felt safe! No reason to worry, I known him 2plus years. So, I left my car there for
paint job
Car Alarm Install
Wheel alignment
Repair Heat/AC
Send bumper out for rechrome
and some other minor mods
I get to the US, first thing I do is visit his shop, only find my car and 15 other customer cars all over the lot.
My car is or was 100% sound and road worthy
There's more to the story but that's the jist... Now here comes the pain!
No Bumpers (they were sent out to be chrome-but I don't know where)
No chrome at all (car was supposed to be paint and car was stripped down)
Car will not start (Viper alarm that was installed disabling starter)
dash torn apart wires everywhere (Only God knows why)
No lights at all works (for the life of me I don't know why)
Just to name a few and way more, but too much to list.
I had to call a flat bed to transport her from that toilet back home.
