62 Starfire Rear Deck TRim
Hi All,
Just picked up a 62 Starfire in need of some TLC. The former owners body man appears to have installed the rear deck edge molding UPSIDE DOWN. At a quick glance it doesn't appear that there are enough acces holes from the inside. Am I overlooking something

Welcome to CO. Can't be sure about the answer to your question. I see you have already made some other posts so assume you have some other threads running too. Hope you get an answer though. Pictures would help....

Oldsguy,
Thanks for the words of support. New to CO and the methods of using the threads. Will learn real soon. Although the 62 Starfire is new, I'm not new to Olds. Restored my L37 Touring Sedan with Rocket 350. Recently finished my 70 CS with 455, and maintain an original F32 Deluxe 4 Dr. Sedan. The Starfire just joined the family. 70 ctls

I've noticed a lot of painters install 62 roof stars backwards or upside down too. Chaps my hide when they do that...
I'm thinking that in addition to the studs, there may be some nylon bathtub style moulding clips holding it on. You're talking about the narrow stainless edge moulding, right?
Hate to send anyone somewhere else, but the AACA Oldsmobile forums have quite a bit of Starfire traffic and several 62 experts hang out there. They were here at one time too, but something happened they didn't like...
