Greetings Erik and welcome to CO. I think you will find this is a great place to learn a lot about Oldsmobiles. People want to be helpful if they can see that you really are trying and have made an effort yourself before asking. Searching threads that are about the same kind of problems you are having is a great place to start. Frequently you will see that others have encountered the same problem and solved it and written it up on one of the many areas of CO. The same problems do come up over and over.

Wow now that's a score. I am from Holland too, and have a 63 Starfire. I remember one rotting away at Moritz in Amsterdam many years ago. Always wanted to buy it but he was asking a ridiculous amount. It sat outside in the rain for years, and always wondered what became of it. Maybe it's the one you have? My car is in the Starfire section.

This Olds comes from New Zealand, my friens dad moved 8 years ago to New Zealand and bought the car there.

His dad passed away one year ago, and my friend shipped the car to The Netherlands.

So it is a verry special car for him.

The car is complete and runs verry good but there are a few minor things that must be done : the feulgauge wil not go further down then half full, the gauge lichting is not working (how do I remove the instrumentcluster)
The aircopump is leaking an the trannypan is leaking deu damage on the filler tube (wich tranny is on the car) and the rear shocks ar shot and the fuse from the electical chair is broken now and then.

Everything else is working on the car!!

So that are the info I will search for on this bord!

Great story post some pics! The fuel lever might be sticking. Remove from tank and see what's up. Make sure there are no blown fuses, bulbs or wiring problems under the dash. Only remove if the printed circuit is blown. Not sure where to find those new, that's not going to be easy but they must be out there somewhere in America. A/C pump is rebuildable by a local specialist. The rest should be easy! I am in Amsterdam area where are you located? PM me if you wanna continue in Dutch language.
