62 olds cutlass f85

I got my first car when i was 12 it was a 1962 olds cutlass f85 I drove it once and i put a small dent in it. So my father took it away from me till i was more responsable I got it back when i was 16 but the car just sat because i was mor interrested in other things. so to make a long story a little shorter i'm 34 and i have been all ove the country and the car has been loaded and unloaded and traveled with me because i love it. Last week i started it for the first time and i drove it for the second time in 22 years.
I drove it straight to the body shop for the transformation i've dreamed about all my life. I need help finding the few missing trim and bucket seats to put her back right. but the parts are really hard to come by so i would love to talk with anyone that can help.
On a side note i have a small junk yard and i am happy to help others in their quest to restore their deams.

Cool story! So what are you doing driving cars at age 12, anyway?

Body and trim parts for this car will be hard to find as the popularity of the early ('61 to '63) F-85/Cutlasses is much lower than the later years, and nothing is reproduced for them. Whatever you find will have to come from donor cars. Good luck.

Welcome. The one thing that is reproduced for the 61-63 cars is the weatherstripping. I got a full set for my 62 from Steele Rubber earlier this year.

Welcome to the forum.

You'll have to let us know where you are located to check out the junk yard.

I grew up in Wyoming and i got a farmers permit when i was twelve. I'm currently in Newport Washington and I've been to every junk yard in the area. Spokane Wa. to White Fish Montana. Also looked in Wyoming when I was there last.

Hello and welcome to CO! Sounds like you've got a nice Olds on your hands. Ebay is always a good source of parts, as is Fusick www.fusick.com in Connecticut. Definitely post some pics of your car when you can and let us know what you have in your junk yard.

Too funny! I got my 62 F-85 when I was twelve too!I noticed yours is an older post but I hope it is back to running. When I was 16 I drove mine to Eugene Oregon from Pasadena, CA., it is a great touring car.
