5998DownUnder

Hi there from Down Under.

My name is John, thought I would join up and say hi. I live 1.5 hours away from Sydney.

I recently purchased a 1959 98 Holiday sedan hardtop. I had only been looking for the right car for 2-3 years. I knew I had to have it.

It has the 394 auto, power steer no air con and does not appear to have anything other than surface rust in places and very tidy underneath. The dash is great as are the seats. I have to do something about the headlinning as the material on the panelling is falling off in patches. Should not be too hard to tackle as I havn't seen that type of headlining before where there are about 6 panels to come down and are stuck up there with silver dividers. The colour is Emerald Mist with white and green interior. Matching seat belts arriving next week.

Have a good one

John.

G'day John. Welcome to CO.
Lotsa pics mate. Chris from Malabar's lovely wife Sharon's 55 Olds should be registered real soon. We might have to go for a cruise & meet half way (The Entrance Hotel?) when you're up & running. Was up there last weekend at an American Muscle Car show. Great Spot.
Cheers...Col.

Hi Col, good to chat. Not a prob.
Sounds great to us. We have been driving the 98 around a bit and doing some cruising. Will be placing some pics tonight hopefully as soon as I work out how.
John.

Radiator? What radiator??

Your nuts.... No it was out being re-corred. She's home now and runs like a charm.

Welcome to CO John. Very nice looking car. I agree that the head liner should not be too much trouble.

Heh. Never fooled with a Starfoam headliner, have ya?

You'll have to get a vinyl headliner stitched up. No one makes the Starfoam now.

Talking Welcome to CO

Sweet ride, I like those 59's they sure have style plus you can fit a F-85 in the trunk for a spare.
