371 noob

Hey all
I am looking at buying a blown stroked 371 from a friend to use in a front engine nostalgia dragster…..
I don’t know anything about these engines. I do know & trust the machine shop that built this engine.
I am looking for a magneto & either a 2 or 4 pot hilborn FI setup & pump…..
I appreciate your help

Welcome to the site, post some pictures of your project. Is there a question here?

in a low boost application, like a weak 6-71 & E86, are stock rods & a welded crank OK? Not gonna spin the motor over 5500…..

If it were built for the blower you should be fine.

Just my opinion, but Hilborn fi were like a toggle switch, full on or full off with not much in the middle. They didn't cross over much to anything other than the go straight stuff.

My ex brother-in-law may still have a complete set up that was used on his dirt track rig in the sixties that didn't work out well, he hardly ever sell anything, but it may be worth a try. I can get you a number if you want to try.. It would have about 100% cool factor for about 2% of the car crowd, as most wouldn't even know what it is.... Tedd
