Exclamation 1974 cutlass supreme 2nd owner

hello all i have a 1974 cutlass supreme 4 door M vin. i have brand new ac compressor and belts installed, but the belt keeps coming off basically as soon as you cut the ac on. when the car is off the belt and everything near the belt are tight and secure. the offset on these are a bit different and i am looking for anyone who has encountered this problem or knows someone that has, and how to fix it. i need the ac belt to stay on. also this vehicle is for sale. 2nd owner with new everything 83000 original miles, we bought it at 79000. custom sound system, ALL NEW PARTS FROM RADIATOR TO THE SHOCKS. 8,000 obo all receipts available.

Welcome. Post a few pics of the a/c
bracket areas. You may be missing a
spacer or have mis-matched brackets.

Are all the other belts aligned correctly?

Welcome to the site. You might consider placing a proper ad in the cars for sale section with a good description, location and some pictures.


For the A/C make sure your pulley alignment is correct and the belts are tight.

There are only a few things that will cause the belt to come off, wrong belt, wrong pulley, misalignment or the accessory that your powering is loose, and a loose belt.
