Hi everyone,

I have just bought the above car from Iowa and bringing it over to the UK, it states it has 25,000 miles on it but who knows?

Any information on these cars would be good and all the best to all on here.

What's there to say? Huge, inefficient tank with handling like a tramp freighter.

I've got one because I was looking for a cheap convertible, and I have fun with it, but I am under no illusions about its true nature (I have tamed the seas with Bilstein shocks, front and rear sway bars, and a '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee steering box, but that only gets you so far in a 5,000 pound car).
Over there, you'll find that it's bigger than some lorries, but you will get people's attention.

As much as I love the big cruisers ... who are you going to find over there to do the MOT? Never mind the petrol cost.

When it gets there ... I really want some pics of it in the mall car park taking up four spaces besides some of the microcars. Heh, park it beside a Reliant Robin and snap some pics. That'll be good for the soul.

Best advice I can offer is to make sure of your supply line. My boats are of the '80s vintage and parts are tough to get.

I can take it to any normal garage for not and parts are really easy with Ridley motors not too far from my house or just order online from rock auto or somewhere like that.

I will make sure I get some better photos when it arrives, just hope it's as good as described, always a risk when buying online but it was so cheap it is worth a bit of a gamble!

Can anyone suggest any mag/alloy wheels which would suit my car which is white?

I hate C-bodies with mag wheels, so my vote would be "Don't do it, man!"

Me too. My vote is leave it as built. You won't regret it. Mag wheels always look "dated" after a few years. Nothing will ride better than factory either. Mags that upset the factory track will cause all sorts of suspension and bearing wear issues, too.

Cheers, my dad has a 1970 chrysler Newport here which he's put some mags on and it's never been the same either.

If anyone knows of a rear bumper for my car or front bumper over riders, please let me know. I am also thinking of making the repair to the roof around the rear screen so will probably have to take vinyl off and was going to paint the roof a dark metallic blue to tie with the interior and I think would give it a good look, I would do a correct blue from oldsmobile of that year, so nothing daft, just discreet. Does that sound a good idea?

I am planning on this but it could turn up and be an absolute bomb, this is always the gamble being so far away!
