1971 442 I might purchase??
I am considering trading for a couple of Cutlass's, one is a 1971 442 and the other is a 1972 with the 350.
I have several questions about the 442:
It is not a w-30, should it have red inner fenders? It has none right now.
Can someone decipher the body tag:
ST 71 34487 R01988 BDY
TR 932 49 49 PNT
7A130
Build date shows as 07 71
Engine is a 455 that has been bored out to .60 over, does that hurt value. I have been told the motor is original, and heads have a G on them. Could not get the number off the block.
I know very little about Olds, I am more of a mustang guy, but like the car, it needs quite a bit of restoration.
Any help or comments would be appreciated.
THANKS!!!

Where do you get this from? The body tag? What's on there are typically letter/number combinations like 05D, which would indicate 4th week (D) of May (05). The year is not given. The code would be at the top left of the body tag. I don't think the year was ever put on the body tag, and the VIN wouldn't have the build date at all.
