1969 cutlass 350 daily driver complete restoration

Hey! this is my first post and I wanted to know what set-up you would recommend for my 1969 cutlass S if I plan on daily-driving it in the near future. I've had the car since I was 14 years old and drove it daily to high school for almost 3 years. I went away to college but the car had to stay home so it's not receiving as much love as it used to. I'm planning on doing a complete restoration during my winter breaks and summer vacations and I was wondering what mods could I make to the 350 my car came with for it to make 400 wheel horse power but keep it kind of reliable. Also, advice concerning anything related to the powertrain (transmission, differential(I want a Limited-slip/posi-traction), what gears I should use etc..). I want to sell the car I have in the state I currently live in and hopefully take my Lucy with me(my cutlass), and make it more reliable and fun to drive than it has ever been, any advice on ANYTHING is welcome, as well as your own car stories and restoration plans. Thank you!!

Welcome to the site, post some pics of your girl when you get a chance. Sounds like a very worthy project to a well deserved friend.

400+ hp is possible, I would bore it to 4.125" or 4.155" quality modern ring pack forged pistons, either custom or 400 sbc. Get either a 330 forged steel or your factory nodular crank offset ground for a 3.6" stroke with the Honda rod journal. A roller cam, ARP fastners and either Procomp, Eldelbrock or have your number 5 heads ported with 2.07"/1.625" valves. The reason I am saying max cube stroker with aluminum heads will be more street able at what 430 crank hp?
