1965 442

Hello
I am a newbie to this site. Last week I purchased a 1965 442, all stock origional motor & transmission. Found it on Craigs list & went to Michigan to pick it up. I live in Minnesota so about a 12 hour drive. First time I ever did something like that on Craigs list but it happened to work out well. The car is very solid floor pans and trunk, it was painted about 5 years ago to the origional color and the interior is in great shape except for the dash. Runs OK but it leaks oil and the radiator needs to be flushed and re-cord. I plan to pull the engine and put rings and mains in it as long as I am pulling it and have the transmission rebuilt - it is a 2 speed jetaway auto - I want to clean up the engine compartment and mostly just fool around with it - not a off frame restoration for me I just want something dependable and nice to drive next year for now. I think with minimal effort I can do that with this car. I plan to post some pictures later

Welcome to the site Dave! It sounds like a cool project. We'll be watching for your pictures.

A couple other sites you may want to explore are focused on the 1964 and 65 Cutlass/442. They're:

http://442restoration.homestead.com/Parts4Sale.html

http://ultra-hi-comp.proboards.com/index.cgi?

But please participate here too. I just wanted to share these other resources with you! John
