1963 Dynamic 88 Convertible

Howdy! I just purchased a 63 Dynamic Convertible. (455/400) It can be driven, and I hope to have it road-worthy soon. It is a work in progress and will certainly keep me occupied. This forum has answered a lot of questions already. Thanks everyone!

Welcome from another N. Texan, x2 on the pictures. Wouldn't mind seeing you at the NTOC Zone show in Granbury next month.

Pictures of the 455-400 installation! I have a 64 Starfire that I'm looking at doing that.

Welcome to CO! I owned a metallic blue 63 D88 rag top back in my college days.

Sorry for the delay. I made two prior attempts to respond from my phone with no luck.
I didn't get any good pics before I drove it into the shop where it sits tonight. I'm sorting through 50 years of electrical splices and repairs. I should have the electrons contained enough to get it inspected and tagged soon. After that, I will slow the oil flow from the bottom of the engine and/or the trans, align the pulleys, and rework the shroud. When those items are addressed it SHOULD be road ready. I am looking forward to driving it.
The 455 is securely attached to car. I am glad its a 455 and not the original 394 as I understand parts are hard to come by.
I will be at the NTOC event in Granbury provided I don't have any prior commitments. Pretty sure I'm free that weekend. If all goes well, the red sled will go with me.
Thanks again. Pictures soon!

Still here

I'm still here! Haven't had much time to do what I'd like on the sled so it has been sitting with parts removed.

I drove it around a local lake a few times on weekends when I had time, but when I took it on the highway it had a bad vibration in the front. Wheel balancing indicated a bent wheel that now carries a lot of lead (for now). Also a wheel bearing with an oval race and a hot spot (fixed).

I then separated the remaining hub from the drum which created some additional tasking. I still need a high speed op check to see if it is satisfactory.

Alt pulley appears to be lined up. I will have to monitor the belt.

Although the fan shroud is still in work, I haven't had any cooling issues. I have not checked it in heavy/slow moving traffic. The rad is old and will soon need attention or replacement. I'm considering aftermarket aluminum.

Brakes, ah the brakes...I will attempt to clean, inspect, adjust and bleed. This is my only priority and why I'm not driving right now. I will be upgrading the MC and/or booster for safety soon. Still researching on this forum to determine the best combo of MC and booster and where to get lines, fittings, etc.

Ok, back to the shop. I'm taking advantage of this cold snap we're having this weekend.

Tried to upload pics...short attention span.

Check this out for a radiator:

I put one of these in mine with the high efficiency core plus added a coolant recovery system, works very well.

Thanks, Don. I was wondering about those. I had narrowed it down to those and Griffin Radiators. I put a Griffin in my sons Jeep last summer and I can't make it overheat. Big difference though between a 4.0 and 7.5 motor. Did that rad drop in or did you have to make any modifications?

It was an exact match for the stock radiator except the core tubes are closer together and there is no PN on the tanks.
