1963 Dynamic 88 barn-find
Hey guys, new to the forum.
I will introduce myself and my classic Olds:
I am Tyler, from Huntsville, Al. My Olds is a 1963 Dynamic 88 Holiday sedan, Willow Mist green, green interior, 394, automatic trans, PS, PB, AM radio and that's it, no other options.
My car has an interesting history....
It was purchased new by a couple by the name of Tofil, in Dearborn, MI. They apparently used it as their everyday vehicle until getting involved in a sideswipe-type of accident in 1969.
It wasn't severe enough to disable the car but the left side was wrinkled up from the front bumper to just behind the rear door. According to my info, the Olds was pulled into the garage, turned off and left that way for the next 43 years.
The couple eventually passed on and I bought it a year ago and shipped it down here. I know in today's vintage car culture 4-door cars are about as desirable as the flu, but a stripper car with a big engine and dog-dish hubcaps is right up my alley.
I have a video I can link to if anyone wishes to see, but I can verify that this car is a time capsule. The odometer reads 52,000 miles, there are '64 and '65 parking stickers on the windshield, oil change stickers on the door from '67 and '69.
There is also the insurance slip in the glovebox dated 1969, and a mint 1969 Michigan tag on the front. It still has the Allstate bias-plies it was wearing in '69 as well.
The downside is the engine stuck from sitting so long in the air up there, but I've had the cylinders filled with a secret recipe solution for the past YEAR, so hopefully it'll unstick and I can see whether it's salvageble.
Regardless of the engine situation, I'm going to start searching out some sheetmetal this year. I already have a front bumper but I'm still going to have to find essentially an entire front clip.
I'll try to post a couple pictures of when it was dragged out from it's slumber.

Thanks guys for the kind words. It's been in dry storage since coming down here to keep it out of the elements, btw.
Here's the youtube video if anyone has 30 minutes to waste, LOL.
You will certainly be amused by my accent.
