Throw away the Chilton manual, it's worthless. Get a factory Chassis Service Manual for your car, an original paper copy, not a repro or electronic version. Be aware that 1962 was an unusual year for Olds CSMs, in that Olds did not release a new one for that model year. There is a 1962 supplement manual that only discusses the differences from 1961. This means that you need both a 61 manual and a 62 manual to get a complete set of information, and you need to read the supplement manual carefully to be sure you know what information from the 1961 manual to use and what to replace with the supplement info. Congrats, this is the only time Olds ever did this. Good luck.
Welcome to the site, we do like pictures of cars. As Joe said, a Chiltons manual is good to place on the ground to allow short people to see over fenders or prop doors open.
Where can manuals be bought? I just bought (or should I say stole) a 62 starfire today with 57,000 original miles for $2100.00. The PO took all of the trim off to paint it but it came with 2 complete sets of trim, 2 full interiors, both bumpers that had just been re-chromed and still in the paper. The body is perfect but still in primer. It has been in the desert since 1966 and I can't find a speck of rust or any bondo on it at all. I need some manuals!!!

I bought mine through Ebay. Good manual, brand new reprints.
Be aware that there is no stand-alone service manual for the 1962 model year. You need to buy the 1961 manual and the 1962 supplement. This is the only time Olds ever did this. I strongly recommend buying originals, not repros or CDs. Keep in mind that there were no original electronic copies, so any CD and most repros are simply scans of an original paper copy. Quality usually suffers and sometimes pages are missing.

I also just bought a 62 Starfire... my car is missing the headliner bow trim... do you have an extra set? I need the chrome plated strips with the ends as well as the steel bow that it attaches to.
