1954 Super 88 4 Dr.

My uncle is the second owner of a 1954 Super 88 4 Dr. with 324 V8. It doesn't run. The body is straight, it's complete, but needs to be restored. What's the price range for a project car like this????

Without pictures and any idea about the engine and how much rust it has, I am going to guess in the range of $1,200 - $1,500. If you get some pictures and a better description, we may get a better idea. Does the engine turn over? How long since it has run and has it been sitting outside? You can spend big $$ rebuilding one of these old 324's and a hydramatic transmission. The 4-door is still collectable but not nearly as desirable as a 2-door or a convertible.

Are you looking to buy this car or looking to sell it ? It's hard to make any money on restoring a 4-door if you are in it for the dollars, most of us do it just for the love of our cars . There is however money to be made parting it out if you can purchase it for a good price , seems a shame to me though beings it so complete. Given enough time as 4-doors become rarer the differential should narrow between 2 and 4-doors.Ho by the way welcome to Classic Olds. And yes we need pics.........Tedd

Thanks so much for the feedback so far. I'll take pictures of it when I see my uncle in a week, and will be sure to share with this forum to find a buyer. The car is located in Modesto, CA (90 miles southeast of Sacramento). I'll let the everyone know when I have more to share. I really appreciate the input.
