72 Blue 442 update

hey guys , I haven't posted anything for quite a while so I thought I'd share some updates I've done this year .I finally got around to lowering the front end of the Olds .It sat way too high for my liking with the nose up,so I took out the front springs and cut 3/4 of a coil and put them back in. I ended up with almost exactly the stance i wanted , in retrospect I could have gone a full coil but I held back at the time thinking that may be too much. As a side note the springs that I received with the car where BBO springs .Rides beautiful now plus handles nicer .The other project I just completed was an install of a complete 2 1/4" exhaust that I scored for $150 from a guy who changed to a Pypes system on his 72 Vert .The mufflers it came with are Dynomax Super Turbos which I really like the sound of.It wasn't as smooth as I would have hoped for as I broke both studs off the drivers side manifolds so I had to drill and tap the holes for new studs ! , and the passenger side manifold I've stripped one of the studs trying to tighten it up to stop the leak so it'll have to come back out and get new studs ! Oh the joy of 40 yr old parts !

Looks good. Is that not an original bumper to the car? I'm no 72 expert, but didn't all 442s have the cut out bumpers. I only bring it up because I think the cutouts add so much to the car.

Stance looks good. How much did removing 3/4 of a coil lower the fr end? My fr end sits a little high as well

Joffoil - it's not an original 442 ,and I believe the cut out bumper was optional anyways .
Retro - lowered the car about an inch

72 W-29 cars came without the cut out bumper per my findings. It was standard on the w-30's though. I have a cut out bumper on my w-29 IMO its the better looking choice esp with the trumpet tips
