my new 72 hardtop project

my new 72 cutlass project...this is it as i picked it up off craigslist for 3k......im changing the color to blue with gray stripes....4 wheel disc brakes...it already has disc in the front....but what should i do with the engine?it has a 403 in it...i dont know much about that engine..should i go to a 350 or 455? it runs pretty strong...the only thing it has is a bad exhaust leak
...but that will be fixed once i go to dual exhaust....i hope im not goin backward with my project it sent it to the body shop first...next engine work, and then interior

Looks like you got a sweet deal for 3k. Is there much rust or just that damage on the roof?

Cool looking project! On the engine, it depends on what you want the car to do. In my opinion the easiest way to get more power would be to drop in a 455. But I know there's several folks on this site who've built 350's and been very happy with them.

I vote for a 455, we'll see what others think

The Olds is looking good. I'd go with the 455 but then I am partial to them so that makes me a little bias. Love that torque
