1970 Indy Pace Restoration
Hello,
I'm just getting started on a restoration project car. I purchased a 1970 Indy 500 pace car on ebay on Jan of 2016. After letting to rest for over a year in storage. I have flipped the switch on a major restoration of this car. I will be moving it to a restoration company in a week. Then they will begin the evaluation of the extent of estimated work required to bring it back to show room condition.
What I need assistance with what needs to be done as far as production inspections on all of the components installed on this car. I also have no idea what identifiable piant over spray etc will be required to replicate the condition from the show room floor.
I also do not have the protecto plate or any of the original paper work from when the car was originally built or sold. I have verified all of the numbers on the engine, trans and rear end. They are all matching number down to the original water pump in the trunk. The only piece I'm missing it the original carb.
This car was on storage for over 20 years and have the motor .030 and rebuilt trans with less than 100 miles on them. This was done 10 years ago.

Well the car is now in the hands of RHR Customs for restoration. as of yesterday morning. After a walk through they determined the car is in very good shape and should not need any pans, panels or doors replaced. All of the trim in intact and strait with the exception of the right rear wheel well trim.
I found a carburetor this morning on ebay, so that piece should arrive next week.
