Been a busy few months with work and the poor Oldsmobile has been put on the back burner a bit as no doubt many of us on here are in the same boat. Managed to source both the exhaust manifolds and the complete exhaust system for the twin pipe conversion from a recommendation on the forum by a member. I am still yet to fit them as I recovering from the postage costs from the USA to here in the UK, 80kg in weight which wasn't cheap plus import duty here. Also sourced an Aluminium Radiator in the States and shipped that over which I have had time to fit, just need a NEW Brake Master cylinder now and Alternator which are on their way from Rockauto. New rear Air Jackers shockers and also New front standard ones fitted, managed to get to a local meet last week and she did turn a few heads.
The fuel line pressure side from the pump to the carb was steel with tubing nuts from the factory. Rubber was used on the suction side of the pump between the tank and the fuel pump.
The risk to using rubber hose and an inline plastic filter on the pressure side is a leak would pump gasoline on the hot engine possibly creating a fire.

Nice car. Kudos. Agree w/ Jeff (above). Best to place that style fuel filter on suction side prior to the fuel pump for reasons noted.

While I agree the factory setup was a steel line. It's been done that way for decades in the hotrodding community. Chances of that type of filter leaking are nil. You're looking at less that 6#'s of fuel pressure.
