WOW.... It's been a long time since I heard that motor fire up. Sounds good. Later on, I want to see a video of your car leaving some rubber on the asphalt. Another OLDS, coming back on the road.

Thank You Oldcutlass. It's nice to see a OLDS coming back on the road and a youngster bringing it back too.

When someone doesn't post for a while ... I just assume it's because your missus has you ducttaped to the bed.

Great to hear from you, Bill.

Waiting to see and hear more.

Don't rush it - it's okay to work at the pace that the money comes in.

Good thing these engines can handle a lot of abuse.

This valve cover screws are ¼-20. You should be able to get something to do the job ust about anywhere.

Looks like you put forth a lot of effort.... One suggestion.... I would change that by-pass hose, looks like the bend is too sharp, at least from what I see in the video ... Could possibly crack and cause a coolant leak....

Guys, I think it's a piece of garden hose.

Well I guess that's a little bit better.

For whatever it's worth, that's the earlier pre-'70 or '71 arrangement. You can either use that thermostat housing with the special curved hose (available at any auto parts store) OR you can use a later housing (and you may have one lying around) that has a J-shaped tube instead of a stub nipple, with a short straight piece of that heater hose you've already got.
