Got the whole car back together, minus the inner fenders cause waiting on new ones, and pulled it outta the garage, then the whole car just died on me.... no battery connection, no starter turnover, nothing, any ideas?. I think it might be the horn relay so getting a new one today to see if that fixes it.

Pulled the motor out... upon further investigation found out it was a spun bearing, so out she went...

Disassembling on sunday!

Question spun bearing ?

I don't like to give advise, but if it were me and I had a non numbers matching HO I would get a different correct dated standard bore 455 block out of a 69 delta or ninety eight and go .30 over, not waist my time & energy on this 4 sleeved .60 over motor. From what I hear .60 over is ok but it gets pretty hot, especially here in San Antonio. Remember when you sleeve it the shop drives the sleeve in; it's a press fit and that can deform the adjacent bores... " knocks them out of round" Bearing failure maybe

Its just a nice seasoned block ready for the machine shop. Its the block I was saving to build for my 66 but sold the car. I was holding on to it for a future project and have not even advertised it but I saw you might be in need and I could use the cash.

I also have the 4 speed crank that went to it for another $150.00 if you buy the block.

So I got a message asking to see pics of my exhaust system and i then realized i never posted pics of it.... Please remember that I have not taken it to the exhaust shop toget final tweaking done on it and welded.

First pic is of the exhaust on my floor laid out, I was like a kid in a candy store lol. The second pic is of the muffler internals. Rest are of it installed and on the Lift with my first oil change i was doing on her

Sorry to see that it was a bearing. I've been there twice and it is very frustrating. Hopefully the damage isn't to bad. The exhaust looks great, love the car.

I thought i posted them.... guess i didnt. i will post them tonight after i get home, and it was an easy kit to install. Only thing i had a problem with and held me up for the longest time was 2 things: I had a spacer on the top of my shocks that made it impossible to put them in there, but took those out and gtg. and the other thing was you have to cut a pipe, due to its made for various A-bodies. But like i said if you get it i would take it to a muffler shop to get it welded together

Thanks Dave, yes it is a 3 inch exhaust and here are the links to the kits i am using on her. Also using Hedman Hedders but reconsidering that option due to not that far off of the ground....

Still trying to get my donor motor so i can start working on her again but with ALS and $$$$ it is kinda hard lol.

No a guy in the club has a pure stock motpr from a 75 toro. Not an hp beast at all but I can enjoy the car and get other things done. Also I can slowly build up the motor to the specs I truly want

Sorry to hear about the motor, my 455 that i have momentarily mothballed had one as well when i got it (most likely why it was pulled). I swear when i get around to building it im going to take a jackhammer to those oil passages haha. Hopefully i can avoid my own horror story.

Were your valves burned up much at all on that piston?

hey man , if you like the color of the engine .... go for it!!! , I actually think it does spruce it up a bit in comparison to being all black.... or maybe I'd just like a new engine no matter what color it is lol
