I bought a rotisserie and it's now bolted to the body and ready to twirl. It has provisions for setting the center of balance. A threaded rod that allows you to adjust the mounting points relative to the center pivot.
My question is is there an easy way to determine which way you need to go initially to establish that center of balance? Any tips, tricks etc. for getting there or do I just have to slog through it and figure it out myself? The instructions have nothing on this. Everything is greased and ready to roll at the moment.

I haven't found anything better than trial and error with mine.

 

Use a helper is all I can tell you until you get it balanced.

The closer you get the adjustment to the center of balance, the easier it will be to roll the body over. Just like mounting and engine to a stand, the closer it is to being balanced, the easier it will be to rotate. I'd just adjust it to the easiest center of balance and call it good.

 

Success today. I set up the pivot points on level with each other and just instinctively realized that my center of balance should be closer to the floorboards because it's a convertible. It was low so I started cranking them up and every inch or so I tried the balance. It was bottom heavy and wouldn't hold position and kept wanting to flip back. After about six inches of rise it settled in and holds wherever you set it now. Very happy with this set up.

The quality is decent. It's not top of the line but is rated at 3k for weight which it will never see in my garage
