rfpowerdude's 1970 Cutlass S trunk goodies

I got the trunk open (another thread) and found that a new headliner is in there along with what looks like a complete console, all the rear interior panels and some unidentified pieces.

Can anyone tell me what the jute backing piece goes to?
Trunk floor needs replacing.
Gonna remove the remote battery cables.

Joe - The material is not jute. Jute is a plant & the various types of jute (backing, cushions, rug underlayment, etc.) are derived from the jute plant. Sometimes manufacturers describe something as jute when it may instead also be made from hemp, sea grass, sea oats, reed grass, etc. The material in your image is made from material remnants (generally from the textile industries) - often cotton, nylon, polyester, etc. It is glued & pressed into various shapes and employed in many (a gazillion) forms. Unfortunately, I don't know what the piece is for in your image.

First....

I have no real idea lol however looking at that piece it doesn’t make sense to go on floor because of piece missing I would venture a guess as to perhaps between rear seat and trunk
panel? Idk score on the other parts

I think Eddie is right - it's upside down in your pic. The large area goes behind the seat, and the smaller pieces lay out onto the floor just at the bottom of the seat.

Maybe so. Like this or does it need to be flipped over as well - right to left or left to right, maybe?

Hmm. Maybe it's just for another car and should be cut to fit the cardboard divider behind the seat The way the sides are cut, it looks like it should wrap inwards in some way. Are we sure this isn't the rear floor insulation maybe? It looks close, but it's not quite right, is it?

Haha, in the Chevelle product description it says “jute”...

thanks all for the awesome detective work.

The behind the seat stuff is all missing so I would need whatever is supposed to go back there...
