Well my girlfriend and i got the decklid lined up thu. And i put the bumpers on and drove it to work. It got lots of looks. Then today my dad stopped by my place and i got the hood aligned. My dad has more patience with stuff like that than my girlfriend lol. Next week no ands.ifs or buts it will be painted. For those of you still following thanks.

It was a late late night last night but we got the body painted. The body came out very very straight much better than i thought to be honest.

The hood and decklid will be next.

My buddy Nick did an amazing job laying the paint on.

That looks great. Since I am close to this step also, I'm curious why you are doing the hood and deck lid separately?

Rallye469 i will be in tampa in oct. Lol.

As to why we painted the hood and decklid at a different time is because we can get it to match and its hard to paint all that stuff at once. I was there 15 hrs yesterday didnt get home until 5am today. Just spreading the work load.

Also thanks guys.

That really looks nice. The color, the stripes, the new wheels, everything. If stripes really could make you go faster that would easily be worth a full 10th.

Well the old girl got a little sun today. Also got the hood painted and the deck lid. The hood stripes are slightly different . Again my buddy did his own thing on them the marbleizing was my idea the layout with the pinstripe in the back was his.

Excellent work the car is beautiful. I like the what you did with the body lines and the gaps are perfect. Well done. Can I ask how you got the line on the bottom of the rear quarters cut in ? Thanks

Well i put filler over the entire seam. Then i put tape along the bottom door edge of the rocker and then a line of tape long the top to the desired width and i used sand paper wrapped over a filler spreader to leave it nice and crisp and straight.

Thanks I appreciate that. Right now I'm blocking the primer, I had quarter skins put on and they look pretty good but the after market fenders and trunk lid don't fit to good. I should have looked for oem parts. But I'll get it done someday?
