Need for Speed
Okay, I am seriously thinking of putting Big block into my OEM stock 64 f-85 4 door DEE-LUX! Can't shake the thought of blowing doors off this newer high rev junk on the road. I am old school cubes and torque car nut getting long in the tooth and figure now is time to getter" done. Anyone interested in giving me the success and nightmare update of this type of undertaking is the point of this post. I have the time, reasonable budget and mechanical capability to pull it off, smart enough to ask questions and gather info before the plunge. Long live muscle car lovers. Lettr' rip
You need to build an high 11 sec combination to keep up with base modern muscle. I run high 11's with my 350 olds. I Spin it to 7k. Its an up hill battle. Even moderately modified ford st. Fiestas will run 11's. Kind of an up hill battle. Build it and have fun. My 350 olds powered 72 cutlass is still pump gas and iron headed.

Are you really building a race car? Fast street car? Fun street car? All are very different builds. Even the fast street car has taken on new meaning with street-legal pro-mods winning Hot Rod Drag Week, culminating in a 5.998s quarter mile pass. That car drove 1000 miles on the street before pulling off that pass.
So it may behoove you to better define what you're looking for out of your build.
