Welcome
Melanie , even before the carb, assess what it needs, assess the assets it will take to address those needs, meaning, parts, labour, locating etc, assign a priority to those needs as an example needs carb toget her running, priority 1 , etc etc..

If you tell us your goals we will help you figure out how to get there.

It sounds like right now you want her running, so give us some details onmileage condition etc and post some pictures of your dream machine

Is the car currently running on the street? Safety and powertrain issues is where I usually start. Then move on to cosmetic when all the mechanical things are squared away.

Mmmmm, 78 Cutlass 350
Should be smooth and nice to drive.
What does it need and what is your skill level?
Are we to believe that you are female and can rebuild your carb?
[I have wife like that, so it is believeable]
