Body swap on good frame

Hi I'm about to enter into my first body swap onto my good frame. I bought my 71 Cutlass Supreme 2dr ht, about year and a half ago. The body had way more rust that I thought, so I found a much cleaner 70 Cutlass Supreme 2dr ht, with a bent frame. My frame is straight and the running gear is all in good/great shape. I need help in what steps I need to take to preform this swap, and what to look out for. I'm still going to have to replace the trunk floor, drive and passenger front floors. Thanks for you NEEDED input, I need to gather as much info &
tricks of the trade to put together a good game plan.... Fred

I'll be following this closely, as I'm about to do something similar with my '69 Cutlass Supreme. Good Luck!

The more straightforward change is a frame replacement, while keeping the VIN, cowl tag, etc. from the donor body. Frames were readily available replacement parts from GMPD. You need to figure out how to reconcile the different VIN stamped into the frame. If GM made a mistake, they would simply XXXX the incorrect number/s and re-stamp.

In california they have to verify the vin twice to ensure it is not a stolen car or parts.
