I am finally starting on my 442 after many years. I bought this car as a roller basically in the same condition it is in now over 25 years ago. It has been in storage the whole time.
Here is what it looks like when I picked it up a couple of weeks ago.
It actually is pretty solid. This is probably because it was stored inside for the last 25+ years. The usual small amount of rust at the lower front fender area behind the front wheel well.
I have aready disassembled the front end and found a crack in the pass side frame horn. I had it posted in the frame section, see attached pics.
After repairing the crack I will paint the front frame area and rebuild. All new bushings / new springs & shocks / power disc brake upgrade / power steering upgrade( Jeep GC ) / taller lower ball joints,etc...
I will say as I take things apart it seems to have had an interesting past. At some point in time the car must have been in an accident in the front. It had a cutlass grill on it and someone drilled and mounted a 442 emblem on it. It doesn't even look like an emblem from this car? One of the front fenders seems different than the other, the emblem holes are not the same. It also had black plastic wheel wells and a cutlass hood.
