67 442

Finally got my 67, bought it one month ago in Anaheim, Ca. The seller was great to deal with, first shipping company i was not happy with so canceled with them and got another, the were great!!! Anyway the car arrived Thursday, the truck driver was also a pleasure to deal with.
So the car....... just as described by the seller, dosent run not sure why yet. It has what appears to be the original E block motor, C head on the passenger side
V201044, drivers side has a B head ?389 date code ?49 what i think is a 65-6 big valve head. The C head has a W exaust manifold, B head has a 225036, 14,D, maybe an 80's 260 manifold? is that possible? This is an A.I.R. motor, possibly all Ca. cars were im not sure. I dont need all the smog equiptment so its coming off. The pump has no belt on it but it does turn. Id like to find another C head, ill just plug the holes for the A.I.R. tubes but would prefer heads that did not come with this. If anyone needs this set up or the B head a swop would be ok. I do have a set of Ka heads off a marine engine maybe ill use them not sure. It has the correct # carb for an A.I.R. car. The car is very straight body wise, The back bumper is bent and has moderate rust. No holes in the floors that i can see so far. The dash is perfect, has AM/FM radio. Factory Air but the compressor is missing and appears to have been off for a while but all the brackets are there i think. Everything else appears to be present and mostly unmolested. I can see the front upper control arm bushing is gone. Anyway looks like a complete rebuild, motor, suspension, not sure about the tranny but id like a T200. It appears to have original steel wheels with hupcaps that i think maybe original to the car. All 4 caps appear to be perfect but will be replaced with SS1's, probably repo 15's. Needs front seat covers and buns, back is ok but will also be replaced, door panels were cut for speakers........ i hate that!
Anyway i have my work cut out for me but its my long time hobby and i love it. I do most of the work myself. Body, paint, and mechanical.
If anyone knows anything about that 225036, 14,D exaust manifold let me know please
Thanks

thanks Oldsmaniac

Hey thanks, i read your post and looked at all your pics last night, wow!!!
you did a great job, im very impressed. I also do my own body, paint, and most mechanical work. My car is originally the same color as yours only with black interior. When i was 18 or 19 i had a 67 4speed car, it was Tahoe Turquoise- i love that color so ill paint this one the TT also. The rest of the car will be mostly original, i just dont care for red cars too much. Its only paint which is relativley easy to change if so desired. More work to change colors but thats ok too. Mine is an A.I.R. car ill take all that smog equipt. off, dont need it here in Texas.
Anyway thanks again, love ur car

Steve

Hope you start a build thread, they are fun to see and watch. I agree, too many are red it seems but I am a slave to originality for the most part and mine is a R-R car. Everything takes time and money but I am sure you will get it the way you want.
