66 Toronado worth restoring?

A buddy of mine had his 66 toronado fully restored, it was stolen last year inolved in a police chase and wrecked. He collected the insurance money and doesn't want to spend the time or money to fix it.

Interior and the non wrecked parts of the car are in perfect condition as well as the motor except the radiator.

I can get the car dirt cheap, just didn't know much about the market on these, only saw prices on ebay and they seemed to go around 5-7k for good conditions.

Only pic I have right now. I saw the car in person last year but forgot the details.

I need to double check and make sure the frame isn't bent.

If you could find a cheap donor car it would be do able. As to if it is worth it most folks have more money in their cars than will ever come out of them. It is a labor of love.

Frame o.k.? That'd be my big concern unless your wanting a frame off resto.
I was surprised my 70 Cutlass frame was tweaked pretty bad and my sheetmetal looked better than that. Apples and oranges.
Just a thought.

Toro on my want list!

72Cutlass is very correct, this is an expensive hobby for most or us. If you are looking to repair and sell it, forget it. He could give you the car and most likely still lose on the resale. But if you want the challenge and bring the car back to it's glory and drive it down the street with a Sh## eating grin on your face with alot of self accomplishment. Get on with it!!!
