I picked this 65 up about a month ago. I’d known about it for quite some time. Someone found it in Georgia years ago for sale. The owner wanted too much for it but had no problem selling parts off it. Thus the missing scoops and rear trim in the photos.
it surfaced again a few years later, I think on Craigslist. From there it was sold to my friend in Ohio in 2016. He texted me on Veterans Day asking if I’d be interested in buying it. A week later I drug it home.

Options include the 442 package, 4 speed, extra foam padded front seat, back up lights, anti spin axle, deluxe seat belts, chrome window frames, y68 deluxe exterior trim, light group, deluxe steering wheel, door mirror and day night interior mirror, tinted windshield and a radio. I’m not sure of the dealer but the one in town was Heyward Allen Motors in Athens GA.

I think so. Stuff like the back up lights and day night mirror may be deleted because nice nos stuff is very hard to find. Ive got an nos door mirror, hood spear and 442 badges for it already. Plus those scoops. Bench seat shifter is rechromed on the shelf.
The red deluxe seat belt retractors have red plastic covers that’s swirled like the arm rests. I doubt I’ll find a nice set of them.

my understanding is that the deluxe interior would have chrome window cranks and armrest bezels.
Started this resto journey with the dash. F85s in 64-65 have plastic dash "pads". This one was cracked in the typical spots and had two chunks missing. Luckly the previous owner who removed it from the car kept the broken pieces. SEM panel bond made quick work of the damage. Covered it with SEM texture coating. The dash face was also refinished. Using some extra chrome parts I had in stock made this dash look new.
Fixed the rips in the rubber mat. Still needs some filling on the top to completely seal up the tears. Once its gets warmer do that and shoot it with Napa red. The sun visors are NOS. They were covered in card board from the factory. Corvairs also used these visors. Some came with only a drivers side visor, so the passenger side was available over the counter. There are still some NOS accessory ones out there. I had to remove the Corvair hinge pins, take out the Olds pins from my junk visors, and epoxy them into the NOS ones. Some white SEM and they are now ready for install.
This car was ordered with the deluxe wheel. Which didn’t match the column when used in a club coupe. I prefer the standard wheel but it is what it is. Next up to refurbish are the pedal box and the heater box.

Jasen, Not familiar with Gibbs, in what applications have you used it ? Always looking for some resto tricks.
I used it on parts on the white car and ten years later no rust. You can find it on Amazon. Stuff I wanted to keep in bare metal like those brackets I use it on.
Pedals. Soaked the bracket in evaporust to remove the oxidation. Then coated in Gibbs to protect it. Bare steel paint is just that, paint. GM didn’t paint parts bare steel. Bench seat shifter came from inventory.

Do you know how many cars had that Y68 trim? As long as I can remember I've never seen one.
Do you need the trim for the rear?
I have two sets. Both need restoring. I’ll use the best 4 and send the other set back to my friend that found them. They are very unique. Have the same shape has the upper and lower ridge of the big die cast panel.
NOS 442 badges I picked up a few years ago at the Nationals and an NOS hood rocket I found recently. The original single speed wiper motor didnt work so I found a replacement.
