1972 Cutlass Built my way

When I was thirteen my uncle gave me an option, take the car outta his driveway or its going to the junkyard. Seven years later Im getting ready to pick up the motor and trans for it. So far I have either repaired or replaced every body panal on it yet I still love it. The only good body part is the hood and yet I have decided to cut a hole in the center of it. Right now their is a 1970 built 455 with an 871 blower sitting on top of it waiting to be picked up. Behind the motor is going to be a manual valve body 4L80E and a 3.73 12 bolt out back. Once the motor and trans are done all thats left is bodywork and interior and Itll be back on the road.

NICE!!!! Got a question,

Who are you getting it from ?? Check out Jake's Performance.
He sponsor's LS1tech.com and many other forums and he's VERY well known
His screen name is Jakeshoe and he's on just about every forum.

Not many other guys on the forums deal with the 4L80e's as much as he does.
He's a true innovator.

He worked with Chris from CK Performance many years ago.

That's a big and heavy trans to fit under an A body! Interesting though

I did a 4L80E in a 71 LeMans, I love it. Jake gave considerble advice along the way to help me choose going that way, and I agree, he is a great resource to the performance market and hobbyists.

Here's a link to the install of the trans, I documented it with pics and notes. Keep in mind this was a while ago, and now there is a nice g-force crossmember available.

Thanks for the advice, I will be contacting him.

And as for the weight of the six speed. The car is going to be a cruiser with an occasional track day so I figure the extra weight will be negated by the blower on top
