I have ran in to a few problems with the carb. I had it rebuild and when I started the motor it did not run right at all, very very rich. so I am scratching my head with that one...

Well I got the car home.
As I looked her over the list of stuff that are messed up is long, very long.

So she is back at the body shop. I am sure it is going to take even longer to fix because he is not getting payed for this.
I think the part that makes me mad the most is the body guy saying do it right. Have to do it right. Then he drops the ball on so many things

So after a long delay with my bodyshop after the "bent" my car she is home and i have started to work on her.
at this time i am stumped with the piece of material that is above the gas tank. My original one not usable. I am unsure of what to replace this with if anybody has any suggestions.

Thanks very much Paul, Lance and 1969w3155. Got your PM John and returned it with info.

It's really cool to see a few more W31's getting back in action.....gotta love the color combo and the story.

no pictures from day 3. it was cold and raining. i got all the shift linkage in, but its not wanting to shift for me. Found a few things that did not come back from the body shop. the locking rod from the steering column down did not come back from body shop.
my spedo cable did not come back either.
i also got a few other odds and ends tied up.

Great work! The front end might have been easier to assemble in advance of the bumper install. Grilles seem to be tighter with the bumper there. Looking forward to seeing this sweet ride back on the road.
