Looking good!! This looks all too familiar LOL, Just went through this on my 64 started last february and knocked alot of it out really fast then stalled once summer hit.. I have it about back together now will definitely be ready by spring.
Lotsa prep work done(only 1 wire wheel accident…they usually come in 3’s.
Rear was prepped and painted, brakes and backing plates are ready, manual gear box and axles cleaned.
The frame left my trailer and came inside to get built.
Fuel, lines, brake lines, e-brake cables, spindles, and coil overs bolted up
you really forget how expensive it is to complete the chassis until you do it again.
Pete, I'm really curious about those front "shocks". Looks like a type of coil over and attached to the top of the lower shock mount holes? Does all the weight of the car push on those holes, instead of the spring pocket? I've never seen anything like that. Interesting. Great job you're doing!
Yep. They’re basic coil overs. The bottom bar spreads the weight out past just the shock mounting tabs a bit, but they don’t use the lower spring perch.
Ive used them on 3 builds so far(including the race car for about 10 years) with no problems yet!

A buddy came over and pointed out where to look for the VIN on the frame...and there it was
It's also a cool reference for how Fremont prestamped there VIN tags.
They knew they were going to make an Olds (3) with the # 5Z119732... but they didn't know what it would be a Club Coupe (3427) until it went on the car.
you might look and see if yours was stamped in two places like mine.
one on the drivers side in front of the #3 body mount and one between the #3 body mount and #4 body mount on drivers side
both on the flat spot on top.
You’d have to ask Travato for the complete details, but the cam is in the .580’s with a modest duration.
He didn’t do much porting or anything, just cleaned everything up.
Just a little more work on rakes and hubs…
‘also, my engine got to the dyno!
