1955 Olds Super 88 Holiday 4 door hardtop
We are restoring a 1955 Super 88 Holiday 88 4 door hardtop. Looking for steel fender skirts. Can you Olds guys tell me where to look? Do any other year of skirts fit the '55? Also looking for front door handles, and tail light bezels. Thanks for any help.

Kenny, the same skirts for a '55 4 door Holiday sedan, fit all body style '56 Olds even the 2 dr. and convertible "98". Mine are metal and came from Fender skirt Depot. They still show the metal ones online for $225. I had a friend that had a set of fiberglass ones, but he was very unhappy with them.I believe the '54 Olds "98" 2 doors are the same ,but to my knowledge no other GM will work. Larry

Kenny, someone has a set on EBay for "$169" listed as for '54-55 "98" 2 dr. Hardtop, but it don't say metal or fiberglass. Might can contact them and find out. Larry

I believe the 55 Holiday is the 4 door hardtop (no center post). It was the first year for the 4 door hardtop. The rear wheel openings are more rounded at the top like the 54 and 55 98 2-door hardtops, Starfires and your 56. I don't know if they are the same or not. The regular 55 88 sedans and 2-doors had the skirts that were flat on top.
Larry I found the skirts you are talking about and they are fiberglass. According to the description, they do fit all the cars I mentioned including all 56's. Here is the link:

To redoldsman.....yes those are fiberglass. Our body man is not to thrilled with the idea of fiberglass. Hoping to find steel to fit our 55. The ones you are talking about are from Big Jim's and are $225.00. Not sure this is the same ad Larry saw.

Kenny R:
You need to post some pictures of your car so we can see it. We all do love pictures on here. Good luck on your search. The fact they fit all models of the 56 should help. They will be aftermarket since the factory did not make them. Most likely they will be made by Foxcraft who was the main manufacturer of fender skirts.

Kenny R, Fender Skirt Depot shows them in steel for $225. You can give them a call @ 1-800-642-5968. Also, CTC Auto Parts has a '55 parts car (#4) showing a good right tail light bezel , and they have several with outside door handles. Let me know if you have trouble finding it. Someone Just listed 1 Tail light housing, needs rechroming, $24.99 on EBay. Larry

If by bezels, you mean the die cast chrome bases, I searched for long while for nice ones. There was a restored pair on the auction site that sold for over $500.00 with new lenses and gaskets.
I ended up sending mine out locally for replating. They were part of a box of stuff I sent, but they were probably about $100-$125. They came out better than new!

There's a guy at spring Carlisle in the lower field that usually has some fender skirts, and I seem to recall some 54 to 56 sets in pretty good shape, but can't recall if the flat top style or the tear-drop style you need. I plan on going at the end of April, and can check and get you some pics and contact info, if you haven't found anything by then.
Are the 4 door front handles different than the 2 door (which I think Fusick carrries)?

@ Russ P.....we contacted Fusick about the door handles and they said that the ones they carry will not fit the 55 Olds 4 door hardtop. Not sure why but when we ordered them they took them off the order.

Where did you get them replated? We asked a replating shop in Winnipeg and they were leary to touch them. Afraid they would get damaged during replating process.
