Jeezz!!
So I just got the headliner down in my '85 Delta 88. How am I suppose to get it OUT of the car without breaking it.. I'm also thinking about just leaving the headliner off. It looks kinda cool! Kinda like a crash test car. Has anybody done that? If so, let me know some pros and cons of leaving the headliner off. Thanks!
The headliner goes in through the front windshield. That means you'd prolly have to take the glass out to get the liner out/in again.
I'd keep the liner, but add some extra sound insulation to the roof first. D88's were spoda be a nice quiet car....If the rest of the car looks good, the headliner would keep it looking that way.
Your call on keeping or leaving it though.

Were you planning to recover the headliner? I'm envisioning (difficult) ways of doing this without removing it from the car, but I'll save it if you're going to just delete it. I personally wouldn't delete it, I like headliners, but it's your car, do what you want.
yeah those 1 piece headliners are a pain too mess with.if it wasn't for the flaky foam rubber off the old ones i would try just doing it in the car but man that stuff gets everywhere.the cloth to do it isn't that spendy and a can of general trim adhesive is about 20 bucks
If you move the front seat all the way back, the headliner should come out of the passenger front door. They will bend a little, just be patient and careful.
I've never heard of anyone having to remove a windshield to replace a headliner.

60s Fords were notorious for it. The headliner fabric went UNDER the rubber windshield and backlight gaskets. One of them Ford better ideas...
May can remove the front seat completely and gain working room that way. That way the headliner backing board would drop all the way to the floor and you could finagle it out.
I don't ever recall seeing a molded Ford headliner sag or fall apart like the GMs do. Me old gray wagon needs one in the worst way along with sunvisors. Literally falling apart.
