New seats

I'm fitting a newly trimmed interior into my 68 Cutlass Convertible and it's not quite stock but a take on how I like it to be.
The front seats were taken from a Volvo C70 and are a perfect fit ( with a bit of tinkering to the runners) and look fantastic in the car. To my way of thinking they are the seats that should have been originally fitted.
They are trimmed in biscuit leather with a diagonal stitch in Ferarri red.
The headrests have a rocket design and 455 embroidered into them.
Also I have fitted a TV screen and a DVD player into the centre console.
The door cards are trimmed in a matching leather with red stitching and I will be fitting red seatbelts.
I'm sure some of you will have an opinion and it would be great to hear it.

Looks expensive. We have guys who do stuff like that on this side of the pond too.

I know a lot of the olds people here like things to be stock but I wanted something a little different. I've also gone with a 442 spoiler, only because it looks really cool and I have done my own version of the fender stripes but I have put 455 in the middle instead of the usual 442. I will post some more pics over this weekend. It's good to get some feedback.

I'm all for non-stock. I'd like to see more pictures.

Thanks. The seat are really comfy and hug you in all the right places. As for keeping it clean, I guess the Albanian car wash near me will be busy, but all the interior has been scotchguarded so it should have some degree of protection. As for cost, yes it was pricey but still only half the price of rebuilding the engine.

Very nice London. Leather is so nice to sit on. Did you think of putting in electric seat heaters to take the chill off the cool mornings or not so foggy cool days?

Hi Allan, thanks for the comments.
I don't know know what you mean, the sun always shines on London.
Seriously, I didn't think of putting in heated seats, besides, driving in the London rush hour is more than enough to heat your undercarriage.

Okee dokee. Across de pond here if I was to upgrade the car to some modern buckets (not likely though) I'd look at installing seat heaters. It seems that we get chilly weather here compared to London Towne.

Yes, I've heard that walking in London can be faster than driving. That's a good case for putting those seats onto a motorized scooter...

Looks great!

My sister lived in London for a couple years with her husband and the kids. Not once did they experience the "London fog" we hear about. My niece wished for enough snow to play in for her birthday, and it came true! I'm told snow in London is not common.

To be honest the London fog wasn't fog but was smog caused by the pollution that was around years ago but since they cleaned things up it now never happens
You are correct with regards to the snow. This year virtually none which is the same as last year. We haven't had any more than about 4 inches since the 1990s.
Don't you just love a bit of global warming!!

Thanks.
Shame I'm busy on wife duty tomorrow. Been spending too much time doing car stuff so I promised her a whole day.
Went to Southend to see the Cutlass and deliver the interior and the car is looking awesome. Only a few more jobs to do to finish. Working on the roof motors first, then the window regulators, new bumper, fit the interior and a couple of smaller jobs followed by a damn good clean and polish and that's me done. Can't wait.
