Is there a thread for installing a convertible top well liner? Looks to be very involved.

 

I don't know if there is a thread. You can't really get at the liner without removing the top staples I think. Be aware if you buy a liner, there are different qualities. The originals were fairly thick and like double-sided. Many are just a single piece of vinyl with no backing. I think Legendary has a good one.
