Question How Do I Get the Shifter Ball Off?

Trying to remove the faux wood ball from a '70-'72 Cutlass floor shifter, automatic. I did this many years ago and have forgotten. Don't they just unscrew? Thanks!

Eric,

Yes they do.
Do you have another cutlass?

Regards,

George

Love the car in your avatar! Very cool color.

I've soaked it for 2 days and can't budge it......must be getting old!

You mean spinning your tires right.

Once I put it in the vice, I was able to spin it off! Thanks!

Sounds like that shifter ball is toast now if you had to use a vice on it. The only ones that I believe are different are the G body cars - they have a small c clip that holds the T handle in place.
